LEMO PET-01: A Revolution in Pet Care

Li Xuesong and Zhou Tong's Smart Cat Litter Box Redefines Pet Hygiene

The inspiration behind LEMO PET-01 was the busy lives of cat owners who often forget to clean the litter box and are troubled by the smell. The designers got their inspiration from the coffee grinder and designed a visual functional module that automatically fills the cat litter. The dual monitoring mode ensures the safety of cats excreting inside the litter box and can provide the cat's gastrointestinal health data.

What sets LEMO PET-01 apart is its modular design. The automatic cleaning and filling module ensures that the cat can use clean litter even when the owner is out for a week. The dual detection module uses infrared and gravity to provide security for the cat. The automatic disinfection module can timely disinfect the excreta of the cat after the cat leaves, reducing the risk of odor and bacterial infection. The intelligent system can monitor the cat's health status according to its defecation.

The product is made using shell molding ABS, PP. The cat litter box is connected to the mobile phone through WiFi, and the health data of the pet can be viewed on the mobile phone. The automatic filling cat litter module provides about 2 kg of cat litter storage space. The product size is 600mm x 600mm x 620mm.

The project started in Shenyang, China in December 2019 and completed the first prototype in December 2020. The design team surveyed about 500 participants and found that most were more concerned about the internal cleanliness of the litter box, the ease of changing litter and other additional features. This led to the creation of the smart cat litter box design project.

The biggest challenge was to clear calibration products operating logic and human-computer interaction, coordination of product modeling and function, to ensure the accuracy of the data. This product has applied for a utility model patent in China. The patentee: Shenyang LEZA technology Co., Ltd. ( The patent number: ZL 20202 001290).

This Design was awarded Silver in A' Pet Care, Toys, Supplies and Products for Animals Design Award in 2021.
